For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2009 Posts: 18 | I have a stock 3spd tranny attached to my 216 now 53 3100. My truck also has the original rear end with the 4:11 gear. Would this (1947-54 Chevrolet Truck 4-speed) tranny bolt right up and be a good replacement for the 3spd? I am also thinking about having a 235 rebuilt and putting it in the truck to replace the 216. Its on Ebay right now #230383183319. Any info would help thanks. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | yes, the 3 and 4 speeds will interchange, no it wouldn't be a "good" replacement, unless you plan on needing the granny 1st to crawl around the farm, high gear in both is the same
haveing a fresh engine would be a treat, and for me a 235 would trump a 216, but it won't be cheap

Are you going to drive from Orlando to Salt Lake to get it? | | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2009 Posts: 18 | No was going to see if they would ship...?
