After 15 faithful years of driving my '48 half ton (gallery #1791) I'm pulling it back into the barn in a few weeks for a freshening up. It was going to be new paint, fix the gas gauge...etc, but I have been toying with the idea of putting a hoist underneath the bed for a while, and have some parts (and time) available to start this. I'm not looking to haul great amounts of weight, just mulch and firewood, the same stuff as I have been for years with it. I'm planning on lengthening the frame, going with a 8' box and rear end/driveshaft from a 3600 truck. I came across a '50 3800 with a dump, using the original box, and have seen a few in the gallery. I would like to see pics of the hoist and box in the rasied position, and would like to see how the rear pivots. Any help would be great. E-mail me at jwasmus@juno.com
Thanks
