I'm in the middle of installing my new wiring harness and I'm trying to avoid dropping my starter to get a look at the solenoid because it's a pain. Can anyone tell me, on a Chevy V8 starter solenoid which terminal is the "S" terminal? Is it on the drivers side or the passenger side or does it vary?

Hy Old Gold, the start terminal is next to the block, or drivers side, or left side, the other teminal is the resistor bypass terminal, and is only powered while the engine is being cranked. Hope that helps.
