The only thing holding me up is the seat belt situation. I've got a wife and two kids still in car seats (the kids, not the wife) and there are only 3 sets of belts in the truck.
Is there any way to safely put another set of belts in there? Do you think the two seats and two adults would even fit? Are the 73-87 benches wider so that they may work?
It's not something I need to do very often, but I'd like to at least have the option. Any suggestions or ideas welcome. You might consider a 67-72 Blazer or 'Burban...?
I've seen old "extended cab" trucks, too. Maybe somebody welded a couple cabs together and shortened the box, etc. Maybe factory?
I've always been partial to wagons, myself...Nomads, sedan deliveries, panel trucks...

Makes sense.
I would really like a pickup as that's what I have now, but I've also found a '72 GMC Suburban locally that might be a better option. My kids' car seats take up more room than my wife and I do on the seat, so I'd think 4 across would be a no-go. There are several on 67-72chevytrucks.com that have cut a couple standard cabs up and made extended cabs. Some have cut up Suburbans too, but the roof line is higher and doesn't line up with the rear section of a pickup cab.
