I also wanted to use the stock steering box if possible. Just doing some rough measuring, it looks like motor mounts and steering box want to occupy the same space. Has anyone done this conversion, and was it an issue?

Some years have the ability to be nose mounted like the tri-fives plus the mid-engine mounts. Mine was a '71 if I remember correctly and was nose mounted because of the steering box issue. The tranny will need the front brace for support.

I have since found that Chassis Engineering makes an offset motor mount for the 250 especially for this application. I've pictures of it, and it looks like exactly what I need. Thanks for the info, Jeff
