Its been a while since I have posted but the 57 LCF project is moving forward. The rear axle is swapped, Vortec 350 is fuel injected and running and now I am working on mounting the hydroboost setup.

Question is any reason not to use a bell crank for brake pedal linkage similar to what is used for the clutch pedal linkage? The only reason I am considering this is the hydroboost unit doesn't really fit on top of the frame rail but would go real nice inside the frame rail. In order to do this I am thinking of mounting a second "clutch" pedal to use for the brake pedal and use a second clutch linkage set to actuate the master cylinder push rod.

Any thoughts or is there an easier way? Pics will follow I just don't have them yet. I have to find the camera battery charger..

The step vans used a bell crank for the Hydroboost. They mounted the HB sideways on the fire wall. If you found one of those you could probably use the parts.

Thanks. I had / have a 90 degree bell crank from a step van but had great ideas and took a saw to it. I may need to find another one - the part I need may have been sitting under my nose the entire time...

I'm not familiar with the 57, but on my 48 you can simply use the clutch pedal with a push rod length to fit.

The 90 degree bracket from the step van is a good start to a bracket to bolt the booster inside the frame ready for that push rod.

I was thinking clutch pedal as well called a friend to see if his 59 parts truck still has it. I screwed up the 90 degree bracket as well so time to fab something.

Now thinking a remote reservoir with hydroboost and master cylinder on top of the frame rail may be easiest since I can use the existing brake pedal and just lengthen the pushrod.
