Well I'm new here, I recently had a 1954 chevy 3600 given to me. It has the originaly 235 and is in running order.Body work needs work. Some can be saved other parts have to be replaced. This is a family project, as all are looking forward to working on it from my wife, two sons and two daughters, wish is luck. I will be back often to ask questions.

Hey Pat welcome to you and the family. Hate to tell you but the body is often worse than it seems. However, a free truck is always good and I hope that things work out for y'all.

Don't worry about coming back often to ask questions, everything that you intend to do to this truck has been done before by someone on this site.

Thanks. I will find out more about what I am getting into as I start the tear down, and work on peace by peace. Well I already know the wood in the bed is rotten out. I wish that was the extent of my trouble, but then where would the fun of restoring go. I rebuilt a 235 in Auto shop in the early 70's in Canada, I will will find out how much I forgot LOL

Hi Pat,Welcome. You've definately come to the right place.
As Leo's already mentioned, most folks here have been there, done that.
There's nothing you cannot get for these old trucks,it's just a matter of time(and money)i'm afraid! wink
So feel free to ask any questions you have in the relative sub-forums.

We're here to help.

If I can do it the other side of 3000 miles of ocean, you can! thumbs_up

Always glad to see another 3600 come on board. Three things you definately need for your build are patience, time & money. (Or a REALLY good friend with money) grin
