It sort of looks like it has been moved. Was it originally front mounted so you pull it out to turn on the blower? Where should it be located? I couldn't find the blower switch location in the owners manual.

If the control (blower switch) you are referring to is for the Air Flow (Fresh Air) heater, and you are referring to the cable-operated control (for defrost), you are describing the correct mounting location. However, the control that I am thinking of does not turn the motor on/off, it turns a "flapper".
If the blower switch is an electrical switch for the fan motor, it is also located in about the same area.
I have a factory installation manual for a 48 Air Flow (Fresh Air) heater and I will look to see if it has a picture diagram for control-locations in a 2-ton truck.

The hole looks poorly drilled, kind of egg-shaped. There are some unused switches on the dash I could probably trade for. I am nut sure what they ran, they were disconnected when I got it. It used to be a fire truck and may have been accessories. I have the defroster control, although the "de" is missing and it says "frost". I was hoping for AC.

I thought that the GM electrical switch was a brown-bodied up-down thumb switch that mounts under the dash. That type of switch might have a brown or ivory thumb-switch. the know has rounded grooves to fit your fingers but the width is only about an inch wide.
When I grease the muffler bearings it always wants to go backwards and the radio plays classical music ... any suggestions?

Body of switch seems to be the BAkelite material. It is mounted next to the defrost control to the left of the column. The switch is mounted with a screw in the top of it. | | |
