I have a chance to get a 283 Engine from a man who has a 1965 one ton truck
how much trouble am I going to have swaping engines
the engine in my 1966 is a 250 inline 6

From what I know it should fit right in. My dad put a 283 in place of the inline 6 on his '68.

Man ... I think the 283 is a neat engine. Are they getting harder to find?

easy swap - get the bellhousing and motor mounts w/ it if you can

The bell housing from your 250 will mount right up.I don't remember about the motor mounts, but shouldn't be a big problem.

Hey Jim59,
There's nothing to the swap. I put a 283 in my '49. Just had to use an aftermarket crossmember, but everything else bolted right in. Good luck.
