I have a carb that leaks at the shaft which connects and rotates the butterfly prior to the exhaust manifold.

I see reman carbs for sale, but they don't seem to have this part, part of the reman.

Has anyone resealed, reshafted/milled or found a reman part?

Are you refering to the throttle shaft inside the carburetor base, or the heat riser valve that is inside the exhaust manifold?

Both can be repaired, but neither is included in a carburetor kit.

If it is leaking out the throttle shaft it is flooding. You need to check the float & needle & seat. Make sure you have a filter to keep dirt out of it.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

An out of round hole for the throttle shaft will not cause a leak, but that is where a leak will usually show up at. Wrenchbender explained the cause of the leak. However, if you do have an out of round hole, it will be a source of a vacuum leak and performance will be improved by fixing them. I use a small hole gauge to measure the bore like I use for measuring valve guides. The bore will be egg shaped instead of bell mouthed like a valve guide. I ream them out to the size bushing I happen to have, install the bushing and then ream the hole to fit the shaft

Those shafts bores can be repaired pretty easy with a good reamer and some bushings. I have done a few with good success. But the real problem is flooding. There should be no fuel leaking from them, if anything its a vacuum leak with air entering causing a lean condition.
