If I put the new higher speed rear end in will it affect the transmission? if I cruise at 60 mph will it damage the transmission designed to go only 45?

Mike,

In general, No, you will not damage the transmission cruising at 60 mph with a 3.55 conversion.

You might put some wear on the clutch in 1st gear, if you have a 3-speed (and depending on the way you engage the clutch).
