Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you could tell me if a starter from a 1953 suburban will work in a 1938 big bolt tow truck.
both engines are original i'm just not sure what engine is in the 1953.

Thanks

Hy 38 tow, if we're talking Chevies, and 6 volt starters in both cases, then the answer is yes. The Chevy 216 came out in 1937, and that starter will work on 6 volt Chevy 235s, and 261s, and 6 volt GMC 228, 236, 248, 256, 270, and 302 civilian, hope that helps.
