The temperature gauge green light quit. It is the green ground wire to that light I've dtermined is the problem. The temp sending unit is OK. The green wire goes thru the firewall, but instead of going directly to the light, it heads off to another point somewhere under the dash, and then reappears at the light. Question: is that one continuous wire, or does it hook into some othe connector before it ends up at the light. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a 62, so maybe I'm all wrong here, but in my earlier 60 and 61 trucks, the temp lights are RED for Danger!-you're about to blow something up! You might want to check it again?

On my 63 C-10 the green light stayed on until the engine reached operating temp. The red light came on if overheated. Its been quite a while but it seems we had trouble with getting it to work correctly. The red seemed to work independent of the green.

My 65s all had the red/green temp lights. The green would come on when the engine was cold and when it warmed up it would go off. The red came on if the engine was overheating. I always kind of liked that setup.
