First the arm would not even budge but I got it freed up with a lot of Releaseall and a hammer. Now as you probably can imagine the piston inside will not budge. I put a socket on it and put it into a vise and managed to push it in with much resistance, thinking it would break free and pop back out but it didn't.
How do these pistons come out? How can I rebuild this shock?
I bought another set at a swap meet a few years ago and wouldn't you know it that the same one is seized from both sets.

I've got some '40 shocks that I've been thinking about working on but mine don't seem anything like whats shown in the pdf. Thanks Don

In the manual it says not to clamp it into a vise. I had it tighly in a vise and pounding it with a hammer to free up the arm. I most likely squashed the guts. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 26 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 26 | BowTieBits, has shocks for 34-46 Chevys for 105 plus a core of 25. google them online.
