I am doing the 235 swap with my ol' 216 and now need a crank for the 235 according to the machine shop. Does anyone have any suggestions as to vendors or members that could have one available? Thanks for your time.

Hank

I don't think any vendor sells cranks. Hopefully some one will come along and confirm/disprove that.

You may try the Swap Meet section of the forum and cruise Craigslist or ebay. I search the former periodically and there seems to be a 235 popping up pretty regularly. Good luck!

did they say why they felt the crank was bad? I can't really picture the crank not being able to be welded up and reground.

Hi , if You go to a bone yard many of them are now able to look at a parts list from all over the country they may be able to help or some of the parts supply houses are selling short blocks that are not rebuilt just good short blocks they may have a crank that is good but You would have to call and talk to some one for what You would pay for a 235 in a bone yard You could take the engine home and have a bunch of spare parts and get Your crank to boot .

Thanks Davealden........I will call today.

Longbox, they tried to weld it after the magnaflux showed some issues and it was too far gone. I found a company in Charlotte n.c. that has new ones with mains for $422.86......that is a budget buster for me on this little inline six.

Also checking with a Chevy boneyard in FL to see what can be done.

If anyone else has a source.....please post up.

Are the new ones NOS or newly made. I think we would all be interested in the answer.
