Hi everybody, I'm in the process of gathering the pieces to install a 55 car 235 in a 59 Apache. I've done this swap years ago and seem to remember the truck thottle linkage is different from the car linkage. I have the truck linkage from the pedal to the bellcrank on the engine. Is the rest of the linkage (bellcrank, and linkage to carb) unique to a truck? If so, does anyone have the truck linkage they are willing to part with?

Thank, John

hmmm ok, remember a question like this and thought it'd been answered - the linkage that's mounted on the engine is the same grin

You can always make your own linkage with a 1/4in. rod. Just bend it to fit.

I can't seem to find it now, but a while back I came across an artical about engines having the casting hole on the side in a differnt place. Seems like it said that the 261's hole was a little further back on the block. If this were true then the linkage would be shorter or longer some place.

Here is a link to a picture showing the side of a 261 engine. You will notice that the hole is inbetween the two freeze plugs, closest to the left freeze plug.Keep in mind the block is upside down.Hope this might help.

It looks like your block has both pivot points.
