Any opinions on how the steering feels from those who have already done this swap?

I have personally done the power steering conversion on a number of my '64-'66 Chevy trucks, as well as the factory power brake booster conversion. By far, converting a '64-'66 C10 to power steering is well worth the time and effort. For the money, there is no better upgrade than adding power steering. Factory power assist steering was available of these trucks which utilized a ram for the power steering assist in conjunction with a power steering pump and a manual steering gear box. I had a few of these trucks when I was young and never thought about such a conversion, but driving is much more pleasant with power steering, especially in parking lots, drive-thrus and backing. I used the kit from Chevy Duty. It went in fine with no problems. I haven't driven it much since the install but I know it made a world of difference just driving it around the block a few times.
