I saw a national publication state(yes-i AM familiar w/notorious mis-information-i believe EVERYTHING I read... )

They said that GMC's got wing vents and pushbutton doors a year earlier than chevy.
i have several GMC and MANY chevy-dont ask how many- and im REALLY skeptical...

help! can anyone verify the truth to that? i dont want to bash on the mag at all. if its true-its further proof that GMC is superior(no flames please-all in good fun) but most of all-will add more info to my AD truck trivia. =)

Thanks.
Mark

BTW_i suspect the owner told the mag this to account for why his "48" had 52 doors on it.. =) LOL

I'd say the mag got some mis-information. I recently had to dispute several things written in Hemmings Motor News about '55 first series GMCs. Surprisingly, they published my letter word for word.

I don't think you'd be out of line to point out the error to the mag in question.

I agree, misinformation ... hafta remember that back then vehicles were registered/titled by calender year, not model year .... a 57 panel I had was titled as a 58 cuz although it was special ordered in fall 57, it was first registered in Jan 58 - so I had the very rare 58 Chev truck model with single headlights grin

I saw that too. I have a low opinion of the editor of that particular magazine. It's just the oposite of that famous men's mag. I only buy this one for the pictures.

1955 1st GMC Suburban | 1954 GMC 250 trailer puller project | 1954 GMC 250 Hydra-Matic | 1954 Chevy 3100 . 1947 Chevy COE | and more...
It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
