In the last stages of getting my 1940 truck up and running. A few pieces of info I need:

1) What is the firing order and spark plug wire order from distributor to spark plugs on the head? It is the original straight six.

2) What size/group battery would folks recommended? Can't seem to find an easy reference.

3) What oil would folks recommend, both in terms of weight and brand? Located in CA, so cold is not much of an issue.

4) Is there an online shop manual one can reference for a 1940 Chevy 1/2 ton?

1) 1-5-3-6-2-4 counting from the front (water pump) end (thanks to 54TOW, the incorrect digit has been removed)

2) Group 1 battery size? ( here are dimensions ) Chevrolet used Group-1 6V batteries through 1954.

3) What year engine do you have? When in doubt, use 30 weight oil. (The 38 and 41 Shop Manuals say 20 weight)

4) 1941 Shop Manual is closest to your year.
(1938 Shop Manual)
