Does any one know of a flatbed available for our 1955 (1st Series) 4400?

Thanks.

You'll be lucky to find one thats original. Nearly all have rusted away and been replaced. If it's a so-called "factory" bed it was built by MidWest Body Co of Paris, IL - now out of business. It could just as easily have been ordered as a C&C (cab/chassis) and the selling dealer added the body locally to suit the customer. So finding what? is the big question. Unless you have the original it will be difficult to replace it so just go new with whatever turns your crank. Possibilities are endless. I can suggest some AZ body builders I know if you wish.

53moneypit,

I thought I had a line on a nice stake bed, but it might not pan out. Could you suggest some of the AZ body builders?

Thanks.

Sure.
In Phoenix try United Trk Body, Auto Safety House, and Southern Trk Equipment

In Tucson try Auto Safety House or Big Tex.
