This is the spring that returns it to idle when the foot is taken off the gas pedal.

A spring goes from a hole in the pivot plate to a bracket that is mounted on the lip of the pan with one of the pan bolts. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2000 Posts: 784 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2000 Posts: 784 | That's the way I did mine. I just fabed a flat tab with a hole for the spring and the pan bolt. Bolt it on the pan and hook up your spring.
Some will just hook it on the lip of the pan, but I didn't like this approach. It's much more secure if you have something to hook the spring on.
