The Stovebolt Site Forums Welcome! Welcome Centre Do It Yourself (DITY) Gallery 1962 Chevy Stepside *

I've been a member here for year. My father in law gave me a 62 step side last summer. I've enjoyed driving it as it is for a while and Started restoring it in June of this year. My son Paul 10 (Ace mechanic) and my daughter Hannah 9 (Paint and body) are rolling with the project. Our goal is to have it ready for paint by the end of the year. So far progress has been good. I've already purchased many of the parts we'll need. And disassemly has been the easy part. And we know reassembly is a whole different animal. Reading through the forums of you guys over the last year we developed a plan and have a vision of what our truck will be when it's complete. We have had a lot fun together and they are learning alot. I'll post a link to my pictures sofar.

Hey, I really enjoyed your pictures and videos. That's so cool that your kids help you..ha ha, I've been reluctant to weld myself, but sheesh, a 9 year old can do it! I'm still driving my 61 as it is right now, likely will be for a while, as I have nowhere to disassemble it. Man I have a lot of work ahead of me...
