I always wanted to build a tank in stainless or aluminum but don't have a way to weld those metals (yet) | | | | Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 27 Apprentice | Apprentice Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 27 | Thanks thats a good idea I work at a place that packages vegies so everything is stainless for sanitation reasons. Do I need baffles in it also? I found a sending unit which is a 30 ohm so it should work with my original gauge that fits in an aftermarket stainless tank they sell but of course they dont give its dimmensions. We just use a wire weilder with stainless wire and argon gas. Im Ok at weilding but my coworker is awesome at it 35 years experience.

I would put a good sized supply and return in the event you are going EFI. I like to use -8 for supply and -6 for return (1/2" and 3/6")
I also like to have vent line ports in each corner, however that is me.

Mine is made from 14 gauge steel with two baffles inside. I guarantee to you its stronger then any tank you could buy. I had to use a lot of leverage to bend it and then used 2" ratchet straps to hold it while welding. Joe | | |
