I've been able to find specifications for 228, 248, and 270 but not for my 302. I have the 47-54 GMC maintenance manual but it just lists the same motors.

Is any literature available for the 302?

Thanks

Iz, where did you get the specs for the GMC engines?

I'd be interested in any specifications book for the 235 & 261 Chevys, as well as the post '63 194/230/250/292 sixes.

What specs are you looking for? The 302 is basically the same as the 270 but with siamesed cylinders to increase bore to 4" and a different cylinder head. I believe that the oil pump is larger, most likely to accomodate an air compressor. Stock HP was somewhere around 130 to 150 HP at 3200 to 3600 rpm. It would be nice if a medium duty and heavy duty maintenance manuals were reproduced. I have a light dury 39-53 gmc parts manual which has been of great benefit to me and I'm sure would be to others. How do I go about getting it reprinted?

I have a GMC Truck Maintenance Manual (~370 pages) covering models 100-400 from 1947-1954. It is a reprint. I bought it on ebay. Search "1947 GMC" and you will find it priced arount 24.99. Or you can call Faxon Auto Literature at 1 800 458-2734. They are one of the sellers on ebay.

I also found an amazing amount of information in a reprint of the owners manual, that I bought at Bow Tie Bits, a old chevy truck shop in Wichita, KS.
