Could someone look up the following engine serial numbers and give me an idea when they were cast?

235: HAA915619
216: LAA162645
216: LBAI46878

Thanks,

The serial numbers don't provide a casting date, but they do tell the model year, type of vehicle in which they were used, and the plant at which they were built.

HAA=1950 regular production passenger car 216 (not a 235), built at Flint.

LAA=1953 regular production passenger car 216, built at Flint.

LBA=1953 regular production 3100 series truck 216, built at Flint.

The numbers after the prefixes are the build sequence numbers, starting with 1001 at each engine plant.

If you want the exact casting date, look for the casting date code (a letter followed by two or three numbers) on the block, usually located near the starter.
