Now I was wondering, I watched Truck U, as I always do, and they were doing an undercoat from Dupli-color The trucks going to be a Daily driver and was thinking if this is a good protector I should use that on the chassis and all the metal under the body but I also don't know much about it any input? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | Taking into account where you live I would be tempted NOT to underseal the cab/firewall. I've never been a great fan of these textured finish underseals, preferring to just keep everything clean and smooth underneath. That's even where I live in a salt laden winter road situation. I feel these underseals encourage build up of dirt, crud etc due to the texture. Personally I prefer to be thorough when cleaning,i.e. pressure clean under my cars regularly. My own truck came from So-Cal and survived nearly 60 years without any underseal at all. The other benefits claimed for the Dupli-color is sound deadening, this can be achieved internally in the cab. That's just my $0.02. 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr. I've definately got this truck thing in my blood ... my DNA sequence has torque settings"Of all the small nations of this earth, perhaps only the ancient Greeks surpass the Scots in their contribution to mankind" Winston Churchill.

I am not sure what they used, it was a pain to clear off of the bolt heads but the bolts looked as good as the day they were put in. There was no rust to be found except for a few rock dings under the fenders. The car was 25 years old by then. Can't say that I will use it on the truck but I did spray the bottom of the MGA and it is holding up well. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 75 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 75 | OK guys thanks so basically it seems like there is no real need for it.
