1951 Chevy Styline automobile
1951 gauge cluster sets with original-style temperature gauge and gas-filled capillary-tube sender are available for trucks. From whom did you get your automobile gauge cluster?
Was an electrical temperature sender used on the original 1951 automobile gauge? If the capillary-tube sender was also standard in the 1951 automobile, you need to get sender information from whomever you bought the gauge.

If chaimv has an original 1951 216 or 235, and that sender is the later 235/261 electrical sender, it is made for a larger hole in the head (1/2" x 14 NPT). If chaimv has the smaller hole, would there be an adapter available?

What year engine do you have in your car? If it is late early 55 or older, the hole will most likely be too small for that NAPA electrical temperature sender.
What is the eBay seller's username? It is hard to believe that the gauge set is NOS if it is for a 1951 car (unless the car engine used an electrical sender/gauge).

thanks for your help. i have the origional 216 in the car.
the ebay seller is rohnaz. he did say multiple years. and he did not specify if it was for the car or not. other then the higher oil pressure gauge and electric water temp it looks identiacl to what is in my car now
