Thanks for the information guys.
Of course we have hones and fluid, we even have electricity
But buying a hone would be 40 Euros plus I would need a rebuild kit (I´m verry picky on breaks since I had a spectacular accident with a 55 Volkswagen with rebuild and honed cylinders)
Buying the new cylinders or even the complete kit would be cheaper plus some peace of mind.
If I only would know wich one is sutable for my halfton rearend.
Frank
P.S. This may be also important:
The cylinders came with the rearend and don`t have any rust or pitting at all, that`s why I reused them. They worked well on a short test drive. They leaked out while the car was siting in the garage for a week.
Could it be, that the (ohmygawd how to discribe this)... the 2 little slotted rods that sit between the cylinders and the shoes are to short? I bougt them from a guy that says they are from a late 50s pickup, but who knows?
