I'm leaning toward the pusher fan anyway, but don't want the hassle of cutting and welding to move the rad. Any suggestions?

I want to keep the inline 6 look so was thinking of a 292 for the power. Does a 292 drop in in place of the 235 I replaced the 216 with a few years ago easily, without engine compartment modification?
If so, I would lile to keep the column shifter but go to a 4 speed, any suggestions or advice?
I'd also like to keep the floor starter. | | |

In my 1 ton I had to modify the universal 292 mounts to make them work. As for my 59 1 ton - the 292 fits with a fan and the right spacer. But mine was a dump truck engine and had other odd things about it. | | |

(inliner) buffalo steve for motor mounts chevy engines as well as for the 292, but other universal ones can work also. Buffalo makes things to FIT. Contact Buffalo Steve, Inliner advertiser, You can call Steve at Buffalo Enterprises - phone number: (360).652.7684 (do a search) and he can make you a mounting kit. You'll have to weld it in. I just installed a 292 in my 51 - 3100. I'm going to use a spal pusher fan w/ two relays. I have a three grove crank pulley and standard H2O pump w/ the pulley. There is room w/ the H2O pulley mounted w/o moving the radiator forward, (on mine anyway).
