It looks like the cutoff valve may be welded into the tank, or it just may be that there is a crud buildup around it. Anyway, I am concerned about putting a wrench on it and forcing the issue. Anybody have any experience with changing out this valve? Also, I can't seem to find the valve listed in any of the usual parts supplier catalogs. | | | | Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 443 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 443 | The valve should be threaded onto a 1/4" nipple that is threaded into the tank... at least mine was. When I tried to remove the valve, the nipple broke off in the tank. I used a drill to remove the broken nipple and replaced it with a new one I got at the local hardware store in the plumbing section. Not much can go wrong with the valve, so the nipple is probably your problem.
