For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 70 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 70 | I've been reading up on the 2 water pump conversions, the short pump and the adapter plate with the early pump. I can't find any mention about how much additioal clearance ( in inches) that you can get with these conversions. How much higher does the adapter plate raise the water pump? Thanks | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 | About 2" shorter and raises about 5" putting the water pump back where it should be for the 54 and earlier trucks. the adapter plate works the best letting you buy over the counter water pumps. | | |
