I'm trying to decide what mufflers to put on my 235. I have Fenton headers on it and dual exhaust. I want something that'll make a bit of noise (so you can hear the lopey cam at idle) but something that has a very low pitch to it. Anyone have any recommendations or sound clips? Thanks!!

Where are you located in in NY? I am near Albany.

Last summer I installed a beautiful stainless-steel dual-exhaust system from Patrick's. The polished stainless dual-in/dual-out muffler produces too much of a low rumble/roar for my tastes (I like quiet). I might be interested in selling it if I can find and fit standard, baffled, original-style mufflers in the system.

You might be interested in driving my way to hear the muffler, if you are interested in a dual-in/dual-out muffler.

Here's mine. Offy intake, dual Holleys, Fenton splits w/handmade heat plate, 2" stainless exhaust w/ Walker jeep mufflers.
it's a tad out of tune, so nevermind the hicups.

Tell me more about your Walker Jeep mufflers. What years? What size are they? Are they straight through?

I have no sound clip, but i have 40 series flowmaster mufflers coming out of my 235 1957 3200. They sound great! Most people are in shock when I open the hood which reveals the inline 6!
I'll work on getting a clip to you

They're just standard replacemnet mufflers. The application is for a '70s CJ-7. I beleive they also fit the ford Aerostar vans, too. 2" inlet and outlet, 24' length, approx 8" diameter. Inlet and outlet are staggared.

Johnnyrock - your truck sounds bad A$$! That is a 235?

I now know what I'm doing as soon as I get mine running. My '58 235 is silent as a mouse when it runs.

I get the same thing with my Flowmaster 40's. I had glass packs on it before but they were too tinny. I love the sound of the Flowmasters.

Those flowmasters sound nasty! Are the 40 series the really short ones, like less than 12" long? If you have a part number for them that'd be even better
