Ihave seen people weld the 2 piece hood together. Can anyone tell me why and if there is a procedure for doing this successfully? I'm new. Thanks.

Most likely some people have done this because they like the appearance of a smooth hood.

If anyone posts that they have done it, it would be nice to know how long ago it was done and how many miles the truck has been driven since the hood was done.

I wanted to do this to my 52's hood but decided not to. I smoothed the rest of the hood but left the center strip. As I've heard you can not just weld the seam together, you must weld in some supports underneath as they said the weld will crack.
