A guy up the street from me has what he says is a '63 3 spd w/overdrive. He's not sure what it is out of... Were there variants of the tranny for that year? Will this work with my '61 261? I'm planning my '51 5 window build- I was planning on the 261, 3 speed w/3.55 rear. Overdrive would be nice without going the T-5 route. He's looking for $175 for the tranny?
Any thoughts?

Andy

the price is ok if it's in good shape - and w/ the solenoid on it, as well as the relay and kickdown switch, tho the relay and kickdown can be faked, the solenoid can't

if it's out of a Chevy [prolly any GM] it's this one and will work, but not w/ the closed driveshaft
