Just got done installing Classic Perfomance front disc brake kit on my 50 3100. All went well and it was a very well engineered kit. Got the brakes bled and all that was left was to put the wheels back on and go for a ride. Wrong. My wheels, which are not original but a kinda hot rod, reverse offset steel wheel (on the truck when I got it and I liked the look so I wanted to keep them) hit the caliper! I'm sure I'm not the first to run into this problem so how have you all before me handled this dilema? New front wheels come to my mind as the easiest and most likely correct thing to do but I'm not sure if they are available to accecpt the center caps I currently have and would like to retain. They are the type that snap over 3 or 4 "nubs" stamped around the raised center ring. Help please.

call Early wheel in calif. talk to Jason. If you want steel wheels he can make them with different offsets. Don't have their number handy but they have a web site

Had the same problem when I changed my 1967 to 1972 disks. I used rotor/hubs drilled for six lugs so that I could keep the original 1967 5 1/2" x 15" wheels. Wrong! I solved the problem be using 1971 through 19?? four wheel drive 6" x 15" rims. Look stock and have three "nubs" for center caps.

Found some of the 6x15's today at a local salvage yard. They came off of an early Blazer 4x4. Narrower that the previous but look good non the less and no rubbing problems. Thanks all for the input.

the hoops on a disc brake wheel don't have the step that drum hoops have they are flat to clear the calipers.
