I bought a TCI mustang II suspension to put on my 1949 Chevy pickup
The directions are terrible. It says to set your frame to the desired rake and Weld the cross member parallel to the floor. I bought the one with the 2 inch Drop spindles.

First question: Is rake the angle or height difference from back to front.

2nd question: If it is the height difference how much does one go with. I am sure it’s
what a person prefers. I wouldn’t mind to have some of you member’s input on what you think looks the best.

Thank You

Yes, rake is the angle from back to front and is a matter of personal preference. As a reference, I used standard height spindles that put the front bumper 7" off the ground and the running boards 5" at the front and 7-1/2" at the rear.

Marcus:
I was going to ask the same question. I just dropped my truck off at Youngs Welding in Adams Minnesota today. I have a 48 3100 shortbox. I am using a 73 nova front stub, and a S 10 spring set up. I plan to use roll pans in place of bumpers at the height of 8" to the bottom of the front pans.
Also Youngs are manufacturing 54 box sides to fit my 48 WAY COOL. By the way my new box sides are going to cost me $400. YEE HAH. I posted on the build a box posting area. Nobody had a clear answer. I guess I figured out a great solution.

Let me know what you come up with on you ride height.

Thanks
Tom
