I've looked locally and can't find anyone who will make these hoses for me. I'm powering A Toyota Land Cruiser box with an old style chevy generator/power steering combo pump.

I can buy the hoses with one end correct from CPP(the toyota side). It has chevy pump fittings on the other side which I'm told are not the same as what I have(55-59).

Anyone know of an online source that could take the available CPP hoses and put fittings on the pump side of the hose that will work with my old style 55-59 chevy pump? Application is a 55, 2nd series.

Thanks in advance,

Keith

Have you tried going to a hydraulic shop.. More time than not they make custom length hoses, press on fittings, the whole 9 yards. That would be my best guess.

ya- a number of people have asked about a photo session..a good time to do it..no fenders, hood etc. It will be a combination of Toyota power steering/dropped axle/Tilt steering column..I've had this truck about 30 years and have dreamed about power steering the whole time..partially due to the fact one king pin won't take grease..lol. Of those I've chatted with that have made the conversion...they love the results. Using the old generator power steering combo is my twist on the scheme...saves having to make a pump bracket and I believe the pump output is better matched for the Toyota box...otherwise you'll likely need to step the output down.

oh that reminds me "concerning your toyota queston" i remember the artical i read mentioning a pressure regulator on the setup some place toyota puts out a higher pressure than the gm pumps which could blow seals if you don't decrease that

Most NAPA's can make the hoses up from scratch.

for hoses look under hydraulics, power transmission and bearings(a lot of times these go together). isf you can find someone who handles Aero-quip fittings and hose they should be able to fix you up. Also major truck shops and heavy duty equipment

Just a suggestion...if you have the Toyota hi-pressure line and it's long enough to mate up with the GM pump......just grind off the end of the flare to the pump.....use a GM fitting (which you'll have to file out the inside diameter just a hair) and make a new flare.

I've done this on a couple Toyo conversions with no problems. Of course, you've got to have the long enough Toyo Hi-pressure hose to make this work. A flare is a flare and the Toyo steel line end will take a standard flare and the GM fitting will assure a leak-free fit.
