| | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 6 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 6 | [IMG] http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt242/streetracer7405/Chevy.jpg[/IMG] I found my 1960 Apache 40 1.5 ton on ebay for 400 dollars, it has what i beleve is a 235 6cyl and a 4 speed and 19.5 wheels, the engine was stuck the clutch pedal was broken the brakes didnt work and the trans was stuck in gear but i fell in love with it when i seen it and had to have it even though my girlfriend told me i didnt need it because we just purchased a house that needed major repairs. When i got it home i started wrenching on it found the engine wasnt stuck the trans was full of water and froze and since the clutch wouldnt release it was holding the engine. So i thawed out the trans put in a new set of points and it started right up the guy told me it hadnt ran in about 10 years and it looked like it. After i fixed the brakes and clutch rewired all the lights rebuilt the carb i took it for a ride with a big grin on my face but that didnt last long i made it about 5 miles and the engine developed a bad knock and a squeaking sound so my buddy towed me home with my 2001 dodge and a chain. It still runs enough for me to drive it around the yard my neighbors probably think im nuts but oh well thats all i can do till i get some money to fix the engine and its still a cool truck and i love it.

Update: i found a 235 out of a 55 bel air for 100 bucks on craigslist i put it in and it runs great i even got to upgrade to an automatic choke because it came with a carb, it only does 35 or 40 but i still drive it around the neighborhood and get in everyones way lol | | |
