| | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 52 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 52 | When I was a little younger and didn't know that 6 lug meant 1/2t and 8 lug meant 3/4t I bought a brand new clutch at Auto Zone for 130.00 (clutch/ pressure plate, and throw-out bearing) for a 3/4ton truck and my 49 is actually a 1/2ton/long wheelbase truck. ARE THEY THE SAME CLUTCH!!?? Or do I have a clutch that I can't use now?!!?? My truck is a 4 speed, 248-I6. Thanks

Also--in 2004, I invented the spotting alert network in stovebolt after seeing so many trucks when driving around. So that means I am cool.

You really can't buy a clutch till you take the old one out. There are a lot of variations & options. Take the old one out & compare them. Then go from there. I know a guy likes to have the parts setting there but clutches are one thing it's best to pull it first. Sometimes the replacement is a newer style then the old one, but if it is the same dia. & you have the complete kit, it will work.
