Then heard rods a knocking and saw no oil pressure.shut in down in the street restarted and had oil pressure drove a few feet to parking lot and knocking again and no oil pressure. i changed the oil pump and still no oil pressure. anyone have any suggestions on whats happening ? thanks tedjames | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | I assume that this is a low pressure motor. Can you drive the oil pump with an electric drill in order to do some testing? There is a little plate on the driver's side of the block called the oil distributor valve. Take the plate off and see if there is a problem with the valve. If the spring failed you would probably never get the oil pressure to build up. Since you changed the oil pump it can't be the relief valve in the pump. | | |
