I own a 1940 1.5 ton. model 1543 made in Canada. Are all the manuals the same for all Chevy trucks for that year 1/2 ton and up, or do I need a special manual just for my truck. The manuals, I do have explain the engines tear down and rebuilds transmission even some electrical for that truck and year. My question are all the manuals the same for all US and Canadian trucks and because this truck was made in Canada is there a special version I have to get

I do not know if the USA manual(s) is(are) the same for 1940 Canadian trucks. However, in 1954, there was a Canadian GMC/Chevrolet Truck Shop/Maintenance Manual and separate USA GMC Maintenance Manual and USA Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual.
