Too rich for my blood but an interesting concept. Just supposing someone wanted to supercharge a 235 what would be the weak link in the motor design... the bottom end? Looking at certain OEM specs, Jackson Blowers for instance, it looks like their roots-type blowers provide significant boost at low RPM's, rather than centrifugal blowers that don't even start to work until you hit 3500 RPM plus.... just having a "Frankenstein" moment regarding my truck!

I think you hit the nail on the head...the bottom end! Main bearings... to few and too small. Two pounds of boost wouldn't kill the motor, and you would get rave reviews.

I know from experiance that they are weak and have the broken rods and bad blocks to support it. Change the stock rod bolts the ones for the 454 big block and drive with less worry about dropping a rod through the side of the block. Just my .02 worth.

One of the threads had a link to a photo of bottom end strengthening mods, like adding a saddle over the bearing blocks, etc. Can't find it again though ..... Obviously with enough money you can do anything but I think a very low boost roots/carb set up that assists lower RPM ranges would work and be alot of fun to show! Regards,
