HI....are there sets ( front & rear) of SS brake lines (pre bent) for our 54/3100 truck? They would be installed by a brake shop. If they are available who would be best to purchase from? We have no experience in buying this type of item. T/C Steve

Completely stock? Yes I think so, try most any of the brake line folks like Classic Tube.

If you have something non stock you may not be able to use the original lines, or not all of them, just depends on what you have changed.

I think I got my set from Inline Tube. Excellent fit.

UMMM.....the engine & drive train are from a later 60's model truck (the PO got rid of the closed drive line) but the rear end is 10 bolt pattern. The lines look like they fit all their retainer clips. I have never heard of classic tube I will goggle them. T/C Steve

I used inlinetube on my '51 GMC. I was very pleased with the quality. The fit was very good except the long line back to the rear flex hose had to be rebent a bit. Not a big deal, but everything else fit pretty much spot on. I didn't get the stainless - from my experience with a '46 whose brakes were done in 1987 with regular steel lines, I didn't feel it was necessary.

Great now we have options. My uncle wants SS lines as he says that the truck sits a lot and gathers moisture in the brake fluid so its safer to go with SS lines. We have a new master cylinder so with the SS lines "we" feel a bit safer. T/C Steve

You won't be dissapointed with Stainless from Inline Tube. Mine fit great. I also bought Stainless fuel lines from Inline Tube, and they fit good also. Just put them on last weekend. Real easy job! Have Fun.

I bought mine from jim carter truck parts. If you have the original master cylinder and the drum brakes, they will fit. It doesn't matter if the drive train was changed or not. Plus SS is very easy to bend, so you could easily tweak the bends a little if it isn't perfect.

Looking through those sites, I don't see any 1953 3/4ton longbed lines. Is the demand that small?

I bought SS lines for my 1950 3/4 from www.ClassicParts.com who I believe buys them from Inland. They fit good except for the line to the rear end which was 19" too long! They said that is the only line they showed so sent me another which was still too long and I had to bend a turn in it for fit. One caution on the SS lines into old blocks is they leak, both on my rear brake blocks w/banjo had to be replaced with new in order to seal. These has been discussion about this here before so you may want to search pro's/con's.

Interesting! I bought SS lines for my '49 3/4-Ton pick-up from Inline Tube and guess what? - the line going to the rear end was way too long and had multiple kinks/bends that didn't match the original. Inline swore that their lines were made from original patterns and that I must have been mistaken. I removed the factory orignal line from another '49 3/4-Ton parts truck that I have and they made me a new SS line to match. I had to return the SS line that was too long and pay $9.00 for postage. On a good note, the SS lines really look nice.

yeah. what is up with that? even LMC (which I don't buy from unless I can't find it anywhere including used because they are overpriced) they skip right over that year for the 3/4 tons.
