Hi!
Does anyone know if a 1941 head (casting 839401) will fit in place of a 1940 head (casting 838773)?

It looks like a change was made between 40 and 41. The head gasket is the same - maybe someone will post information about what changed?

Here is information that states the 1941 head is completely re-designed. The combustion chambers were changed to match new flat piston-tops.

One footnote in Ted's posting refers to changing Exhaust Valve angle to 45 degrees and seems to include heads from 41-53 on a certain numbered head, but doesn't specify your 41 head number anywhere. Perhaps a close comparison of both head valving will help answer your question.
