Your question is a little difficult to understand. It seems to ask if a 1956/57 6 cylinder oil filter will work on an 8 cylinder 265. It looks like a 6-cylinder by-pass ("canister") oil filter will only work on a 1955 265 engine. Here is the decal and some information for the filter you are most likely referring to (if it is the GM AC by-pass filter canister). | | |
