I tried to see if they were going to have one for chev's, but I couldn't contact the right people. Has anyone heard anything about these? Just wondering. Thanks. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 769 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 769 | I have never seen one for a Chevy. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,961 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,961 | The simplest way is still to get a later model transmission and rear end and weld up the pivot in the suspension. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 | I was just wondering wy they can make one for the f*#d's, and not chev's. Must be somethin' with the shaft on the chevy is such, that they can't do it. Lord knows, they would sell far more to chevy guy's (and gals) than they would to the F. folks. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 | crenwelge, the March issue of Street Rodder, had pics of the install of this unit in a 48 ferd 1/2 ton, and it looked simple as heck. Then all you need is a drive shaft and O.D. trans, and your in buisness. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | Speeway is, as it's name indicates, first and foremost a circle track source. All through the 30's, 40's, and early 50's Fords out numbered all the other brands by probably several hundred to one. Even the Miller (Offenhauser) engine is derived from the Model B Ford engine. All quick changes were based on the banjo housing Ford rear end. It only made sense to offer parts for what was then the dominate consumer. All this changed in 1955 with the introduction of the SBC. We ran a 32 Essex with a 308 Hudson Hornet Twin H Power and kicked EVERYBODIES butt.
