That's actually cheaper than buying a 'cheap' flaring tool!
Certainly makes good sense (to me anyway) if just doing a single truck.

Please note that I have not used this personally so can't give a true endorsement to its proficiency - just came across it & thought it would be interesting/useful to share. It certainly appears to give (almost) idiot proof results!

It's been discussed here before, I think all reviews are good..

I bought one, and really like it too.

I'm also a big fan of the copper nickel line too, much nicer to work with than stainless. Although their prices are a whole lot to high..
I've found better sources for the tubing, and am trying to put together a larger order and could sell some if it works out as expected.

The folks at Fedhill are nice, they have helped me out, and offer a nice tool. But they seem a little bit to "exclusive" it's difficult to find what they offer elsewhere, and they then take advantage of that. I suppose that's how it's supposed to work, but it just doesn't sit right with me.

I think Sykes-Pickavant makes the tool offered by Fedhill, but the one they sell now has a different punch arrangement, otherwise all the little details are identical best I can tell, same parts.
I checked earlier this week and the list price to buy one from the UK after the currency conversion is about the same as what Fedhill offers, not considering shipping though.

The 'deal' is more suited for the one-time user and a rental price of $25 probably offsets the cost of either purchasing same expensive tool, or buying an inferior one - even with higher cost of tubing.

I used the Sykes Pickavant flaring tool,I was lucky as I borrowed it from a customer of mine.
It's solidly made,good quality and easy to use.

Cost? a crate of beer!

wow 280 plus . way over priced. i have a k-d bought for 25 yesrs ago . yes it is a dubble flairing tool.

bought my papco(made in canada) 45 years ago. more tha likely haven't used it in forty years , but just needed it the other day and still works just as good as the day I bought it. Can't remember what I paid for it, though it wasn't that much in $'s

Asked the wife for one for a 10th year wedding gift, mind you I had to buy a ring for her! I still think I got the better of the deal, this thing works wonderful. I was so tired of make flares that were not up to snuff; now every one of them comes out perfect!!

These folks say they have the best prices, and so far best I've found. If you ask they should offer the larger set with all the SAE sizes up to 3/8", and you could add the 1/2" size if needed.
