Is TRW or Federal Mogul making FORGED flatops for
these old inliners.... or is anyone??? so as not to incur "custom" piston price...
I saw some mentions of Venolia... but saw no
pistons for Chevy or GMC 6 when I visited their site.... off the shelf anyway so I'm assuming those using them had them made "custom"...
Anyway... if there are those out there who are running forged or hypereutetic slugs with 9:1 to
9.8:1 fairly inexpensively I'd appreciate knowing where you picked them up... thanks..K

The short answer is nope. The folks at Arias and J-E will make them but there are no off the shelf forged pistons available.

Kyle, if you need engine parts in Dallas or a very good machine shop, check out Blaine's Motor Supply. I've used them a few times and have been very happy with their work, prices, and honesty.

I was looking at a PAW advertisement the other day
.... they had several rebuild kits available for many different Chev engines.... if I remember correctly they were showing
1. rebuild kit w/cast pistons
2. rebuild kit w/forged pistons

One of the listed engines for forged was a
235 L 6.... although I have not called them to
confirm they were showin forged slugs for the 235
....I want to say 292 also....so maybe the
forged do exist...PAW used to offer their own
"house brand" camshafts...their house brand was called Super Stock Industries...and their cams were priced less than a Comp or Isky... so perhaps they have their own house brand forged
slugs... or just have better resources than we do here in parts gathering.....
I HAVE NOT CALLED PAW TO CONFIRM OFF THE SHELF
FORGED PISTON AVAILABILITY....but will if I remember to tommorow... their website was pretty much useless without a catalog.. was trying to see if the forged I-6 pistons were listed online..

Badger at one time had pistons off the shelf. They have gone through several changes; it may be worth checking out.
