My Q.s are; will the fuel pump on my 216 be strong enough to pull the fuel out of the tank and up to the carb ( tank will be mounted in frame behind rear axle) since the 52 tank was gravity(sp?)feed to the pump. And to get the factory fuel gauge to read with the camero sending unit properly.( truck is 12v and i do have a reducer for the 6v gauge).

#53139 12/04/2005 7:26 PM | Joined: Apr 2000 Posts: 247 Member | | Member Joined: Apr 2000 Posts: 247 | Fuel tanks haven't been gravity fed since the 30's, I believe. You have a mechanical fuel pump, yes it will pull from a tank between the rear frame rails.
The sender in the camaro tank won't work with your stock gauge. The gauge works on a 0-30 ohm sender, the camaro is a 0-90 ohm sender. Putting a 60 ohm resistor in-line will not work. Best thing to do is to adapt a sender from the same era as your truck to the camaro tank. | | |
