Howdy All, I have a 1930 1 1/2 ton that I'll restore some day. Of course that means doors, cab ...all that wood. I was thinking about getting it going for now by removing all but the cowl and windshield frame, and making a simple c-cab until I can someday restore the rest of the body. Did Chevy send cabless trucks out for other manufacturers to make a C-cab on this chassis in 1930? Mostly what I find is pictures of C Cab trucks in the mid 1920s. Anybody have a picture(s)? I'm not sure in '30 but I had a '34 Chevrolet Fire Truck that was a open cab. It used a factory cowl, front fenders, hood, grille shell. I think they also used these chassis to build school buses on.

Chevy sold there 1930 trucks cab and chassie, no bed was offered by Chevrolet, or a chassie with four fenders hood and cowl, cowl will unbolt from your cab, A chassie could be sent to a local body builder or the owner could build his own body
A "C" cab was getting a little out dated by 1930 ,but it is very possible that one could have been installed on a new 1930 chassie.
I also have a 1930 1 1/2 ton truck a "LR" is yours a "LR" or "LS"?

Thanks, I figured that Chevy sold cab-less trucks, probably still do. I grew up in Eastern Oregon and most of the trucks used for harvest (many were Chevy GI trucks) had the cabs cut off. One farmer ordered an entire fleet of new (1956 or 57) 2 ton trucks without cabs, and those were in use there for decades. I've not actually seen pictires yet of a 1930 ish with a wooden cab, but it looks like my idea will work for now. I forget which series mine is, but I'll look. If you search by TerryJ you'll see my original questions about it last year, when I and the family thought it was a '29. Wrong. It's a '30 and stone stock. :-) TJ
